A recent global survey by Daikin Industries, Ltd. revealed that Houston leads 12 major cities worldwide in air conditioner usage. The "Daikin World Air Survey" polled 1,200 people in cities across the globe, examining awareness and attitudes towards air conditioners and air quality.

Among the key findings, the survey revealed that in Houston, approximately 40% of residents use air conditioners for 24 hours a day during the summer months. This is significantly higher than the average daily usage of 172 hours among the 12 cities surveyed.

The Daikin survey also found that people in Houston spend an average of 172 hours using air conditioners when spending all day at home in the hottest month of the year. This is the highest average usage among the 12 cities surveyed.
